Building Blocks

I think that each of our artistic philosophies is influenced by the philosophies of countless others, and I chose to create Building Blocks to represent this feeling. Each sticky note in the piece contains a quote about game design, design in general, the philosophy of storytelling, leadership, and a variety of other fields that collectively form the many facets of game design, running the gauntlet from ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus to contemporary newsgame designer Gonzalo Frasca. These sticky notes are then assembled into the iconic shape of the attackers' sprite in Space Invaders.
