Corporate Website for LawnWorks, LLC.
At the end of 2010, I was approached by LawnWorks, a lawncare company based out of Hainesport, New Jersey, to create the company's first website in time for their 2011 season beginning in the spring. This was my first time building a company website, and I learned a lot in the process! LawnWorks had some requirements that I did my best to accommodate, specifically:
- We estimated that the average LawnWorks customer had a very low connection speed, many with dial-up internet. To facilitate them, I made sure that the pages on the site were very no-nonsense. No page on the site would take more than a few seconds to load, even over a 56k connection.
- We also estimated that the many LawnWorks customers have very limited internet experience. The site is very simple and easy to navigate.
- Relatedly, we also expected that many customers would use Internet Explorer. Compatibility with this browser has been ensured.
- The company asked that the site serve two purposes: first, it would allow potential new customers to request estimates or other services. A professional layout was considered important. Secondly, for existing customers, the website would need to serve as a dynamic platform to deliver information to customers about evolving information relatedly to their lawn, such as watering restrictions in dryer periods.
